Summer Programs Officer
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the MVBT Board of Directors, the successful candidate will:
- Plan & Run Summer Theatre Camps: Help organize and lead summer theatre camps for rural youth. Work with junior staff to write/source scripts, produce performances, and present shows to the community.
- Engage & Lead: Work with youth of different ages, provide leadership to junior staff, and collaborate with others to make programs a success.
- Promote Events: Create posters, website content, and use social media to spread the word about theatre programs and events.
- Support Community Events: Assist with planning and running local events, build relationships with other community groups, and provide event support as-needed.
- Help with Special Projects: Assist in planning the MVBTCC Centenary Celebration alongside Board Members.
- Manage Event Logistics: Take care of event details, handle front-of-house duties, and ensure financial procedures are followed.
- Help with Administration: Answer the main office phone, monitor emails, maintain files, communicate with volunteer Board Members to pass along operational information.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- entering full time post-secondary studies in the fall semester immediately OR continuing full-time post-secondary studies following the work term
- Experience working with children and youth in a performing arts setting considered an asset
- Able to work with supervision on a team and independently
- Posses good organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both on-line, in person and on the telephone
- Competent in Word, Canva, Excel, and Gmail
- Comfortable with social media
- Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule to assist with special events (some evenings and weekends may be required)
- Interest in arts, culture, and local history an asset
Term: 14 weeks – May 11 to August 14, 2026
Hours and Compensation: 30 hours per week $16.75 per hour

Arts and Recreation Leader
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the MVBT Board of Directors and the Summer Programs Coordinator, the successful candidate will:
- Plan and deliver summer drama programming
- Plan and/or host events
- Assist with promotions and maintaining a social media presence for MVBT
- Undertake building maintenance and grounds-keeping activities
- Assist partner community organizations with weekly tasks and events
Qualifications/Skills Required:
- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age
- Experience working with children and youth in a performing arts setting considered an asset
- Able to work with supervision on a team or independently
- Posses good organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both on-line, in person and on the telephone
- Competent in Word, Canva, Excel, and Gmail
- Comfortable with social media

Term: 8 weeks – June 29 to August 21, 2026
