After a year and half without live performance on our stage, the Bicentennial Theatre is THRILLED to be opening its doors once again! And to help us welcome back our audiences, we’ve got an incredible lineup of beloved NS talent: JJ Roots and Brooke Taylor!
JJ ROOTS exploded on the East Coast music scene with the launch of their self produced debut album “Here Goes Something”.
With soul-lifting vocals and powerful melodic riffs, JJ ROOTS excites audiences with their highly impactful original Contemporary Roots/Folk/Americana vibe. They also showcase the music that inspires them through their original “JJROOTified” covers while creating profound responses from audiences.
In under 2 years since forming the duo, Jeff & Jocelyn have experienced sold out concerts on tour, received airplay across Canada, USA, and UK, various TV and Radio appearances on CTV, Global, and CBC, and won the 2019 Overall Folk/Americana Duo of the Year at the International JMA Awards in Tennessee. Their second time, year over year, winning this highly competitive international title!
JJ ROOTS’ sonic style has previously been referenced to such story telling greats as Buffy Sainte-Marie & Joan Baez with the edgy twist of Fleetwood Mac.
They are currently completing their sophomore album with renowned producer/engineer Paul Milner of Trillium House Studio.
Brooke Taylor is a Musquodoboit Valley favourite with a real talent for crooning golden country oldies. Prior to COVID, he would lend us his talents at our Family Friendly Pub Nights and during the pandemic, he participated in our Virtual Pub Night and A Very Merry Musquodoboit Christmas shows. We are so happy to have him joining us onstage for a live audience once more!
Due to NS Covid restrictions all ticket holders are required to show proof of full COVID vaccination status. Please click here to read our full COVID-19 Policies.
