ABOUT SAM MOON
Cape Breton born vocalist and songwriter, Sam Moon, has been performing for over 50 years. He has performed coast to coast with a large array of Maritime top musicians. Known for performing barefoot and in a trademark MooMoo with Matt Minglewood and Ritchie Oakley by his side. He has shared the stage with ZZ Top, The Guess Who, The Band, The Beach Boys and many others.
In 1982, with the release of his “NEW MOON” Album, he was named “Nova Scotia Entertainer of the year”. Also he received the National “Shure Microphone Award” as top vocalist. He was the first Maritime Artist to break the Top 10 C100 charts and was recognized with the MIANS Legacy Award for contribution to Nova Scotia music. Sam Moon as a ECMA award winner, released his “ Never Let Me Go” Album in 2011. In 2016, Sam Moon and Matt Minglewood were awarded The Music Express magazine recognition as “Canada’s Top Performers Back In the Spotlight”.
Sam still performs today and has branched into an acoustic duo format with music partner, Dave MacKeigan. The Moonman looks forward to bringing his Moon tunes and tales to you.
